No, I’m not talking about eating a really good cake. I’m talking about how to find success. We’ve all heard the ol’ proverbial “Rome wasn’t built in a day.”
So you need to recognize this. Starting a new training program at the gym or restarting the one you were on will be challenging. You might have thought to yourself:
How can I fit this in my schedule?
Will I really get the results I want from training?
Do I have what it takes?
Will I be working out with fit people?
Am I going to feel comfortable training here?
Instead of changing your whole lifestyle at once, get started by building up your goal piece by piece. Be consistent with your presence at the gym first, and completing your workouts; then work on improving nutrition choices. If you're going to wait a week or two before rejoining your gym membership, start making the needed changes to your nutrition now.
Did you know that it’s common for people to get sick soon after starting a training program? The main reason is because they do too much too soon. They are trying to change the big picture all at once, instead of going after it piece by piece.
Consider this: What is the secret to success?
Simple daily disciplines-little productive actions, repeated consistently over time-add up to the difference between failure and success.
Simple daily disciplines or simple errors in judgment, repeated consistently over time, make you or break you.
You can start wherever you are and achieve success if you'd just keep this in mind, and take the necessary actions.
“The Slight Edge”
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. Talk to you soon.
