What's up family. Welcome back to my blog, or welcome if this is your first time reading. Today I want to share with you the four costs of starting an exercise program. If you're going to start an exercise program, it's going to cost you in four different ways. So let's cover what they are.
The first way it’s going to cost you is physically. There's a physical cost that comes with starting an exercise program. When you start training, it’s likely you haven't exercised in a long time, so your body is not used to all the activity, all the movements up and down, side to side, front to back. So you're gonna feel sore. It's natural, it's going to last for a few days and you’re gonna notice it. The first five to seven days of your training program are going to be intense. if you’re training correctly, you will feel sore often, but you'll really notice your first week. And then if you're starting a nutrition program, a new way of eating, consuming nutrient dense foods with your meals instead of sugar and fast food, your body will change.
You may get headaches and feel a little lethargic. Now these costs are temporary, but they are something that you're going to feel when you start a training program.
The second is the mental costs, like the mentality that you have to take into your training. So some of you don't feel comfortable going to the gym, you don't feel comfortable working out in front of other people or around other people. And you're going to have to get over that in order to get the body that you ultimately desire, you're going to have to be strong mentally.
The third one is emotional because there might be some days where you don't feel like training. You don't feel like working out or going to the gym. Somebody might invite you to a happy hour, or dinner at an attractive restaurant which you’d rather go to, and you have to say no to all those things.
You have to cancel all of those things to get your workout in because you have a physique that you want to achieve and there are sacrifices that have to be made. That's why it's a cost. So the third one is an emotional cost.
Now, the fourth one of course, is the actual money, the monetary costs. You might have to invest in a new pair of running shoes. You might have to get a foam roller or a band, some new clothes to start your training program. Or you might have to invest in a trainer to help you achieve the goals that you want.
